Verbal Aptitude-Jumbled Sentences
Strategies:1. Identify the topic sentence. The topic sentence is the first sentence or introductory sentence that explains what the paragraph is about. You don‘t have to read the entire sentence to identify the topic sentence.
2. Look for the below clue words
a.Chronological Clue words – First, Next, Then, Later, Initially, Subsequently, Finally
b. Contrasting Clue words – However, But, although, yet, rather, while
c. Cause and Effect Clue words – Because, as, since, accordingly, consequently
d. Descriptive Clue words – For example, for instance, such as, in addition, furthermore, also, to begin with, likewise, another.
3. If these clue words are not present, then identify the key word or phrase in the sentence which will help connect the sequential sentence.
